Nexen Tire Co. has been producing top-of-the-line tires in Korea for almost 80 years. Starting out in 1942 as Heung-A Tire Company, Nexen was recognized as the first Korean company to mass produce tires and has been dedicated to providing quality products, friendly service, and exceptional value ever since. Nexen is also committed to ongoing research and development into tire technologies and cutting edge equipment to bring you the best tires on the market year after year. Nexen Tire USA is located in Richfield, Ohio, where they have a technology center.
Nexen makes tires in these categories: passenger all-season, performance all season, touring all season, performance summer, and all terrain. Whether you’re looking for new rubber for your SUV or a high-performing set for your summer canyon drives, Nexen has the tires for you.
To evaluate the quality of tires, you can compare the average treadwear of Nexen tires against the industry average across all brands. The treadwear rating is provided by the US Department of Transportation as a uniform tire quality grade (UTQG) which is stamped on the side of the tire and refers to the life expectancy. A tire stamped 600 is expected to last twice as long as a tire stamped 300 under typical driving conditions. Treadwear, however, is only one factor to consider when buying tires. Also look at tire reviews, manufacturers’ warranties, and performance and handling expectations.
Tread Type | Nexen Average Treadwear | Category Average Treadwear |
Passenger All Season | 668 | 554 |
Touring All Season | 516 | 546 |
All Terrain | 550 | 506 |
Performance All Season | 440 | 429 |
Performance Summer | 302 | 323 |
